Geoffrey Butler was born on the 7th of December 1995. He started swimming competitively at a young age and predominantly in distance along with some open water in the earlier stages of his swimming. He has represented Cayman Islands in international meets and swam for his university team in Edinburgh. He competed in the Rio Olympics of 2016 in the 400m freestyle, winning his heat. He has retired from swimming and is now playing competitive water polo for his university.
